THE DMASS ORGANISATION
History and Structure
DMASS Europe e.V., (until recently DMASS Ltd.) a European non-profit organisation, is the only industry body that collates detailed electronic components distribution market data on a quarterly basis by country and product groups such as Microcontrollers, Flash Memories, Analog components, Passives, Electromechanical products and many more.DMASS was founded in 1989 and provides its members with a reliable statistical tool to evaluate their relative mass-market performance. The organisation consists of 40 active members in 2022 and represents between 80% and 85% of the total European distribution market, depending on the regions. To continuously increase its European market coverage, DMASS welcomes new membership applications from distributors and electronic components manufacturers.

Each participant is a member of the association. A board of three members represents the interests of the association and is elected to ensure and monitor the objectives of the association. Andreas Falke is the managing director of DMASS Europe e.V.. The DMASS figures are collected and consolidated exclusively by the auditor ISARTAX (Isar.tax).

Purpose
The aim of DMASS is to provide its members with a reliable statistical tool to evaluate their relative mass-market performance. Resales (POS) data is collected on a quarterly basis by ISAR.TAX. The consolidated results are released to members only and are never disclosed to non-members. Limited summary data is made available to the public through press releases.

It is not the intention of DMASS to prevent, restrict or distort competition or affect trade. There is no discussion of the results at meetings, except in very general terms. Data submitted by members to ISARTAX is treated completely confidentially and only a consolidation of the submitted data is released. The consolidated results are presented in such a way that no member may become aware of any other members’ data.

Reporting
Over the years the reporting has been both refined and significantly expanded and now covers more then 80  product categories (Semicon and  IP&E)  over 25 EMEA countries/areas, excluding sales to pc business. It therefore has significant credibility as an industrial reporting group. Reporting is made quarterly to strict deadlines.

Membership
New members join DMASS at the start of a calendar year. The deadline for accepting new members is 31 December.
